Welcome to the LMBA Manager & Coach page. The administration and parents would like to thank you for your interest in volunteering as a manager or coach. You should immediately read the following news about player registrations and immediately begin contacting players from your 2007 roster. You should pay particular attention to contacting your returning LM resident players and encourage them to sign-up as soon as possible.
Being a manager or coach bears great responsiblity. Managers and Coaches need to posses the skills of a teacher, organizer, and mentor of baseball to children between 3 1/2 and 14 years old.
At LMBA we take your position very seriously and expect adult staff to conduct themselves with honor, integrity, and respect for the game. We also expect managers and coaches to read and follow all of the league rules, PONY rules, and City of La Mirada policies concerning the operations of our league.
Below you will find a variety of league forms that you must use to comply with LMBA policies. The first form required is the "Manager/Coach Application". You will need to complete this form and mail it to LMBA before Jan 8th, 2008. If you are a returning manager and your application has not been received before the deadline you will lose your returning manager rights to your team and the team may be awarded to another applicant.
If your application has been received before the deadline it will be reviewed by the LMBA Rules Committee for approval. Approval as a manager does not gaurantee that you will be awarded a team. Distribution of teams to approved managers is covered in LMBA rules and largely depends on returning and new player counts.
After player counts have been established managers will be ratified by the Board of Directors. Managers approved for teams will need to immediately recruit an assistant coach(s). It will be the manager's responsibility to insure all coaching staff members complete a manager/coach application and insure it is delivered to your respective Division Commissioner.
If you are fortunate enough to receive a team you and any adult volunteer on your team will need to be fingerprinted via Live Scan. No parent may be on the field during a game or practice that has not been Live Scan fingerprinted. LMBA will arrange a time and place for Live Scans.
Other forms on this page are required in your position as Manager. The "Team Roster" form is an Excel document and is editable on your home PC. This form will need to be completed immediately following the draft and returned to your Division Commissioner.
The "Game Report" form is extremely important and you should always have several copies on hand as you will be required to turn in a game report following each game or be penalized. NCR game report forms will be available at the snack shack. You should also print a few from online just to have a backup.
LMBA strongly recomends all managers and potential managers complete online coaches training at www.ponycoaching.com Certification is good for 3 years and it will add credibilty to your applilcation. Certification in LMBA may be mandatory in 2009.
