The 2012 Bat Rule
We have had a lot of questions regarding the 2012 Bat Rule change in Pony baseball. Below is the Bat Rule is a very condensed form. Anybody wishing to see the full rule is asked to to www.pony.org.
1. 2-3/4" bats are illegal in all divisions in PONY baseball.
2. 2-5/8” bats are legal in all divisions of PONY Baseball. If a 2 5/8” bat is a -3, it must be BBCOR certified (stamped on the bat). Currently there is no testing protocol for -5, -7, -9, etc. They are legal.
3. 2-1/4” bats are legal in all divisions of PONY Baseball. They must have a Bat Performance Factor (BPF) of 1.15 or less stamped on the bat. In addition the bat must be stamped “approved for play in PONY Baseball.” There will be at least three other youth baseball organizations listed on the bat: Babe Ruth, Dixie, Little
THE MAXIMUM BAT BARREL DIAMETER IS 2-5/8". NO BAT WITH A BARREL EXCEEDING THIS LIMIT IS ALLOWED IN PLAY IN THE LMBA.
MANAGERS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE TEAM REPRESENTATIVES TO ASSIST IN THE SNACK SHACK ON THE DATES ASSIGNED TO THEIR TEAM.
FAILURE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WILL RESULT IN A $500 FINE AND A SUSPENSION LEVIED AGAINST THE MANAGER IN VIOLATION. THE MANAGER WILL REMAIN SUSPENDED UNTIL THE FINE IS PAID IN FULL TO THE LEAGUE.
THERE WILL BE NO BUYOUT FOR SNACK SHACK DUTY.
2012 ALL-STAR TEAMS -
ALL STAR PARTICIPANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO POST A $250 DEPOSIT. WHEN ALL TEAM PARTICIPATION COMMITMENTS (AS INDICATED ON THE ALL-STAR COMMITMENT FORM) ARE FULFILLED, THE PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE $200 IN RETURN.
